Lake Wenatchee

Beautiful Lake Wenatchee. It was such a dream!
I'm finally getting around to posting this. Things have been...well...crazy. More about that later.
This walk down memory lane (even though it was only 3-4 weeks ago) will be rejuvenating.
The G. Killian family reunion was at Lake Wenatchee this year. My parents rented a old 1920's homestead in the mountains. It was perfect! It had plenty of space, room to play, hot tub, large yard for soccer games, and a neighborhood bear!
Rustic, I tell ya!

I look forward to this week more than any other in the year. We were so sad Dustin and Natalie couldn't be there because of school. It's always a blast getting all the bros and sisters together. It was especially nice to spend time with D'laney (a.k.a. D-Cent, D'jabody, Daluners) before she boarded her airplane for the MTC.
Upon arrival, we immediately went to the lake.
Gorgeous, frigid waters.

Hinder LOVED riding around with Aunt Davi!

And playing with cousins at the playground

Two of my beautiful sisters- Dalyn and Dakota.

Silly little monkey...
Sidenote: Ya know what's great about family reunions?! Particularly when you have a big, bustling family?!
Not having to watch your own child for a full week. With all the cousins, aunts, uncles, nana, papa, and pets...I was off mommy duty for eight full days. Absolute bliss.

We enjoyed a little nature.

H and Riles on our family hike. Our little butter bean would have been content carrying that stick for hours.

All the activity wiped him out. He slept in until 10:30 one morning.
BONUS!
My favorite day of the reunion was the day we traveled down to the cute Bavarian village of Leavenworth, WA.
It was lovely. Nestled in the mountains, a traditional Bavarian town...complete with an authentic Danish bakery. We may of may not have spent half of Riley's paycheck on pastries.

He makes me swoon....

On our way back to my parents hometown, we stopped at a cute country mercantile called Smallwoods. It was a haven for toddlers! And by extension, for mommies.
Just look at that bumblebee swing!

It was essentially free, except a buck to enter the petting zoo.
And we're high rollers, so of course, we did the petting zoo.
H was more interested in the wagons rather than the animals.

And then we saw this beauty...and BOY, was it TOTALLY worth the money!

A buck-toothed Llama! What a beauty!
Part of the family feeding the animals.

A couple other cool things they have at Smallwoods...
Antique vehicles

Horseshoes and lassoing areas.

Classy photo-ops.
(My sweet husband. He'd do anything for me. And this picture proves that. )

Race track for tricycles.

And tractors. Lots of tractors.
Davi, Dakota, mom, myself, and Devon.

I'm SO grateful to have a big, happy family that genuinily loves being around each other.
Thanks mom, dad, Drew, and Lara for putting together a memorable week!
We love you all!
