Memorial Day

Our long weekend was mostly spent cooped up inside dodging the rain. By Monday, the weather had cleared up beautifully, so we loaded in the car to meet Aunt Gretchin in North Conway, New Hampshire.
It was the most quaint town! The main street stretch had dozens of cute shops, boutiques, and cafes. Hinder was enamored by the rock and fossil shop, but decided to spend his money at old fashioned five and dime store instead. He chose three parachute army men and a set of chattering teeth.
The Weather Discovery Center was a big hit with the little guy. It was a tornado demonstration, wind cannon, and even a cabin that simulated the feeling of being in 200 mph winds on Mt. Washington. Vyla was terrified every minute we stayed there, so our visit was cut a little short.
We spent a good chunk of time basking in the sunlight at the local park while the kids ran amok.We ended the day with a little ice cream. The perfect start to the summer season.
My only regret was not hitting up the amazing outlet stores at Settler's Village. The 40% off signs were calling my name.
