The first few days were forecasted to be raining and stormy. Fort Williams was a different place in the fog and mist. So different from the green hill side and blue water we've experienced before. The kiddos were excited about frolicking in the puddles. By the time we left they were covered head to toe in water. e
Next we travelled to Boston, hoping to escape the rainy weather in Portland. Be careful what you wish for! This pretty city wasn't rainy, by it sure was humid and muggy.
Thank goodness the New England Aquarium is air conditioned. This establishment was everything we expected! They had sea turtles, an anaconda, sharks, rays, penguins, seals, and fish galore. Plenty to do and see and touch.
A few hours later, we made our way a few blocks up to the Faneuil Market to meet my parents, who were concluding their NYC road trip. It was a special thing to have both sets of grandparents with us. And the ambiance wasn't so bad either! Cheers restaurant dinner, including authentic Boston cream pie? Yes, please!
The next day, Vyla and I needed a break and some naps, so we stayed home while the guys and Lorie went to Popham Beach. They even met Aunt Gretchin there!
Riley raved about how pretty it was there, so we'll have to make another trip soon.
